1. Introduction
Cor Technologies ("we", "us", "our") operates the Forest Data Collector platform, including our mobile applications (iOS and Android) and web application (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information.
By using FDC, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
This policy is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and we comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Linked to Your Identity
Account Information When you create an account, we collect:

Tag forest blocks, plots, and survey points to their geographic coordinates

You may revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings, though this will limit FDC's core functionality.
Forestry Survey Data We collect the data you enter into the Services, including:

Block and stratification information

Plot survey results

Tree and species inventory data

Stocking standards and survey parameters (RG, FG, Planting)

Photos, notes, and any other content you submit
This data belongs to you or your organization. We act as custodians, not owners.
2.2 Information Not Linked to Your Identity
The following may be collected in aggregated or anonymized form and is not tied to your account:

Identifiers: anonymized device IDs, crash report identifiers

Contact Info: anonymized indicators that an email or contact field was used (no actual addresses retained)

Location: coarse, aggregated location used for diagnostics and regional usage analytics
We use this data to improve performance, diagnose issues, and understand how FDC is used in the field.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect payment or billing information directly through the Services. Any subscription payments are handled by the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or our third-party payment processor, each subject to its own privacy policy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Services

Sync your data between devices and the web app

Authenticate your account and protect against unauthorized access

4. How We Share Information
We share information only in these limited circumstances:

With your organization: If your account is part of an organization or team, your survey data and account activity may be visible to administrators of that organization.

Service providers: We use third-party providers for hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and email delivery. These providers are bound by contracts requiring them to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cor Technologies, our users, or others.

Business transfers: If Cor Technologies or the FDC product is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. You will be notified before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in Canada. Forestry survey data captured offline is stored locally on your device until synced.
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted password storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate regulatory authorities as required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and survey data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 365 days, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or legitimate business purposes.
You may export your forestry survey data at any time through the Services.
7. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you

Withdraw consent to our collection and use of your information (subject to legal and contractual restrictions)

Delete your account and associated personal information

8. Third-Party Services
FDC may include or link to third-party services (for example, mapping providers or app store services). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before using them.
9. Children's Privacy
FDC is intended for forestry professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Users
If you access FDC from outside Canada, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in Canada or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Services, you consent to such transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, notify you through the Services or by email. Continued use of FDC after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
